UFD Jammu conducts series of plantation drives
Jammu: In continuation to the ongoing Greening Jammu Drive, Urban Forestry Division Jammu conducted series of plantation drives in Jammu city.
The drive was conducted at Housing Colony 14th Battalion J&K Armed Police Channi Himmat in collaboration with 14th Battalion J&K Armed Police Jammu and Trustee of Gayatri Parivar Jammu.
Ornamental plants were planted along the roads in the colony as well as small parks inside the colony. Range Officer Sunjwan, Rakesh Verma; Block Officer Sunjwan, Nitin Charak and Block Officer Mahamaya, Kuldeep Raj and staff members of Sunjwan Range conduced the plantation drive.
At a similar drive, 100 plants of different species, including ornamental plants and shade bearing plants were planted in a park at Toph Sherkhania near Shamshan Ghat.
Divisional Forest Officer Urban Forestry Division Jammu, Sunil Singh started the drive by planting the saplings in the park. Singh Range Officer Talab Tillo, Anil Dev; Range Officer Sunjwan, Rakesh Verma and other field staff also participated in the plantation drive.
Another plantation drive was conducted at Brigade Headquarter Rajouri Lines Muthi in which the Officers of Brigade also participated.
Around 325 plants of different species were planted during the drive conducted in collaboration with Indian Army.
Likewise, a plantation drive was conducted in Rajput Regiment Akhnoor road in which 250 plants of different species were planted in collaboration with Indian Army. JCOs and all ranks of Indian Army participated in the drive.
