TCS Helps Vistaprint Simplify Business Operations and Accelerate its Digital Transformation Journey

Mumbai: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting, and business solutions organization, partnered with Vistaprint (a Cimpress company), a global leader in promotional and marketing products and solutions, to help the latter successfully migrate to SAP S/4HANA on the cloud, simplifying its business operations and accelerating its cloud-led digital transformation journey.

Vistaprint needed a stable and scalable business solution platform to manage the growth, complexity and pace of change of its business and operations. To help achieve those objectives, TCS worked with Vistaprint to migrate from its SAP on-premise system to S/4HANA Cloud Infrastructure. TCS transformed Vistaprint’s finance, supply chain, sales, and analytics functions to help it deliver major improvements in customer value across a wide variety of customized product categories. This program also enabled Vistaprint to guide its 17 million small and medium business partners globally in better forecasting local demand trends, accelerating customer fulfillment and growing their businesses.

As part of the program, the company transformed and migrated 3 years of historical data comprising 4 billion finance documents and spanning over 100 entities and 6 global manufacturing sites, achieving a data compression of more than 60 percent. TCS leveraged its Secure Borderless Workspaces™ (SBWS™) operating model to successfully switch over to the new solution during the COVID-19 lockdowns, setting a new industry benchmark in minimizing the downtime to less than 2 days.

The new platform’s embedded data analytics have improved analytics efficiencies across the organization by 10 percent. The real-time inventory analytics have helped Vistaprint reduce inventory costs by 4 percent. The program also ensured compliance to the new IFRS15/ ASC606 accounting standards.

“With the COVID pandemic affecting our go-live date, we needed to move fast and make a quick decision to complete the migration or defer it. With strong collaboration between both parties and leveraging TCS’ SAP S/4HANA COE, we made the right move to give our organization and employees the immediate value needed during these uncertain times. The partnership positioned us to meet our long-term strategic business initiatives. Not only did TCS meet stretch goals, they accomplished them successfully. We had common goal to accomplish a successful go-live date and that is what was delivered,” said Mukul Agrawal, Head of ERP, Vistaprint.

“The successful SAP S/4HANA migration is a testimony to the close collaboration and engagement between TCS and Vistaprint despite challenging circumstances. We are confident that the transformation will help the company achieve their vision of empowering customers while also driving business agility and efficiency across sales, supply chain and finance,” said Akhilesh Tiwari, Global Head, Enterprise Application Services, TCS.

TCS’ swift transition to remote working in the face of COVID-19 induced lockdowns was facilitated by its SBWS™. This transformative operating model allows organizations to fully and seamlessly transition to virtual workspaces with a suitable cybersecurity framework and all project management practices and systems needed to ensure that work allocation, monitoring and reporting continues as normal.
