Stonehill students excel in IB Grade 10

Bangalore: Last week, Grade 10 students in IB schools around the world, received their results. The Grade 10 eAssessment is a reliable, globally consistent and highly innovative assessment model that provides quality recognition for International Baccalaureate (IB) World Schools, unlike the more traditional ICSE and CBSE board examinations, the MYP eAssessments are concept-based and test students’ fundamental knowledge rather than just content memorisation skills. The MYP eAssessment is an optional exam for IB schools and Stonehill International School, Bangalore, a pioneer in adapting to tech-based assessments, is one of the very few IB schools in India that conducts the IB MYP eAssessments for Grade 10.

This was an unusual year, as eAssessments, could not be held in May, due to the coronavirus situation. Instead, schools were asked to submit portfolios of work in Language Acquisition, Arts and Design classes, MYP Personal Projects, and predicted grades for subjects.

41 students from Stonehill International School, Bangalore, successfully obtained the MYP certificate, which requires a student to take 9 courses and achieve a minimum total of 36 points. The average grade was 5.34, which is significantly above global averages.

In total, out of 404 subject entries, Stonehill students were collectively awarded 77 top grades of 7/7. This is almost 20% of all scores and is more than double the global average from previous years. 13 students scored a 7/7 for their MYP Personal Project, which is the culminating task of the programme.

Stonehill strongly believes in taking students with potential, and supporting and nurturing them in their journey to academic excellence, regardless of the level that they started at. To know more about this unique school refer to their website www.stonehill.in
