Aligarh Muslim University faculty speaks in Ministry of Information and Broadcasting webinar

Aligarh: The government is taking all the necessary steps to allay the concerns of the migrant labourers, said Prof Md. Tarique, Department of Economics, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in a webinar on the recently launched ‘Gareeb Kalyan Rojgar Scheme (GKRS)’ organised by the Regional Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

He added that initiatives like cash transfers, public distribution of ration, arrangement of transportation and other forms of short-term assistance have been taken to reduce the suffering of migrants under the GKRS launched by the Prime Minister.

Highlighting the importance of the scheme, Prof Tarique elaborated that GKRS is designed to build rural infrastructure, make provisions of internet facilities for rural masses and work out the skills of migrant labour force.
