VMSIIHE introduces two years Master of Science in International Hospitality and Tourism Management (M.Sc. IHTM)
Panaji: How can a hospitality business integrate technology into its operations? How can a state formulate sustainable tourism policies? How can we use qualitative and quantitative metrics to predict trends and patterns which will impact business? All this and more will be covered in V.M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education’s newest offering – M.Sc. International Hospitality and Tourism Management( M.Sc. IHTM). The first of its kind in the state, the Masters Program is affiliated to the Goa University.
The two-year Degree Program follows a credit-based system with 64 credits spread over the two-year period. Of these, 40 credits are assigned to the core courses, which also includes an Internship which carries 8 credits. The balance 24 credits are assigned to optional courses. Each credit comprises of 12 hours of teaching.
The programme is divided into four semesters. The first two semesters have compulsory courses while the third and fourth semesters will have a combination of core and optional courses. The internship is to be undertaken at the beginning of the fourth semester.

The programme involves extensive application of case-based learning, seminars, and actual hands-on training, assignments both at individual and group levels, and intensive exposure to the actual business problems through industry projects. The students are encouraged to creatively think about business situations, proactively anticipate issues and problems, and innovatively deal with them such that they are fully prepared to plunge into the business world to make a challenging professional career.
Supported by the global hospitality brand, the Marriott Group, VMSIIHE has an existing collaboration with Turismo de Portugal resulting from an MoU signed between the two countries, in the presence of Antonio Costa, Prime Minister of Portugal during his visit to Goa.
