Soil & Water Conservation Deptt conducts plantation drive

Udhampur: A plantation drive was conducted today by the Soil & Water Conservation Department Udhampur, here at Jalmara (Tikri).
Around 1000 plants of different species were planted in the area provided by the Soil & Water Conservation Department.
The drive was held under the Chairmanship of Joint Director, Soil & Water Conservation Department, Abhijeet Joshi. District Soil Conservation Officer, Soil & Water Conservation Department, Udhampur/Reasi, Sanjay Kotwal, Zonal Soil Conservation Officer, Udhampur/Chenani Zone, Madan Lai Sharma and other staff members were also present.
The Panch/Sarpanch(s) also interacted with Joint Director and projected their problems and demanded more Soil & Water Conservation works/activities in the area. The Joint Director, SWCD assured them to hold more such drives at larger scale in future. He further assured that the problem related to Soil & Water Conservation activities would also be treated on priority basis.
The locals of the area also participated in this said plantation drive and appreciated the working of the department.
