Develop hostels as Centre for Excellence for all round development of girl students : Madhya Pradesh School Education Minister
Bhopal : Minister of State for School Education (Independent Charge) Shri Inder Singh Parmar inaugurated online training for staff of girls’ hostels and Kasturba Gandhi Girls School, focusing hostel management and academic subjects under the ‘Prajjwala’. Online training will be imparted to teachers and other staff of 323 girls’ hostels of 52 districts and 207 Kasturba Gandhi Girls Schools of the state. Minister Shri Parmar said that the hostels should be developed as ‘Centre for Excellence’ for all round development of girls instead of just lodging and boarding facility. It is utmost important to make girls competent to face the challenges of 21st century.
Minister Shri Parmar further stated that corona crisis besides a challenge is also an opportunity for all. It is preparing teams to work in a better manner in adverse situations. Many innovations have been made by the education department to provide quality education to the students in this hour of crisis. Under the ‘Prajjwala’, the online training will help in all round development of girl students of remote villages, residing in hostels. These students will bring name and fame to the state and country in future. Minister Shri Parmar said that girls will be connected with disciplined life, personal hygiene and many other important things related to life like maintaining cleanliness in surrounding environment by creating good atmosphere in hostels.
Cleanliness is integral part of life
Principal Secretary Smt. Rashmi Arun Shami said that girls of the most deprived sections reside in hostels. Most of them are talented; little cooperation will help them in performing with excellence in many fields. With better management, students residing in hostels, by being disciplined also perform with excellence in studies too. The objective of this training is to develop the skills of the staff for academic upgradation of girl students. Many activities are being conducted to link the hostel students with personal hygiene. There is nothing better than cleanliness. The importance of sanitation has further increased in the current corona crisis. Cleanliness will have to be made essential part of the daily routine of children. These girls will have to be connected to these things with respect and love not with a sense of pity and helplessness.
Prajjwala
Commissioner, Rajya Shiksha Kendra Shri Lokesh Kumar Jatav informed in detail about the online training of hostel staff under the ‘Prajjwala’. He said that many activities are being conducted by Rajya Shiksha Kendra through Boddh Shiksha Samiti and Jal Charitable Trust under the ‘Prajjawala’ programme from 2018-19 for the all round development of girl students. Academic activities are conducted by Boddh Shiksha Samiti of Jaipur and health related activities by Jal Charitable Trust, Delhi. CSR fund is provided by the National Stock Exchange in this regard. Shri Jatav further mentioned that online training will be given on hostel management, skill upgradation to APC Gender of all districts, BGC and KGBC of all blocks besides wardens and assistant wardens of girls’ hostels. In this, training will be imparted on Hindi, Maths and English subjects based on the text books existing in the state. In this, the basic academic competency of girl students will be improved further. As many as 1426 participants will take part in this training.
Shri Jatav further informed that all hostels are closed temporarily because of corona crisis. In such a situation, effective efforts are being made by the staff of hostels and teachers of the Kasturba Gandhi Girls Schools for regular teaching of girls by reaching them through ‘Hamara Ghar-Hamara Vidyalaya’ and Community Classes.
CEO of National Stock Exchange, Mumbai Smt. Rema Mohan, Secretary of Boddh Shiksha Samiti, Jaipur Shri Yogendra Bhushan and Regional Director of Jal Charitable Trust, Bhopal Shri Binu Oracle informed about the objectives of online training.
