Aligarh Muslim University: ‘Digital Technology for Teaching-Learning’ workshop at Malappuram Centre

Aligarh: “The Covid19 pandemic has brought in the opportunity to ‘reimagine education’, with the distinctive rise of e-learning, whereby teaching is undertaken remotely and on digital platforms,” said Prof Nasrin, Chairperson, Department of Education, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

She was delivering the keynote address in the three- day, national online workshop on ‘Digital Technology for Teaching-Learning’ organised by AMU Malappuram Centre in Kerala.

Prof Nasrin added that universities have never faced this disruption in generations, but unlike any time in the past, we have the ability to continue education even when centres of learning are closed.

Dr Asim Zafar, Department of Computer Science explained the participants the process of developing e-content with the help of various free platforms provided by the Government and private players. He also provided the participants with hands-on-training in the development of audio, video and textual e-contents.

Presiding over the programme, Dr Faisal KP, Director, Malappuram Centre said that the pandemic that forced the shutdown of universities has created a spike in demand and popularity of e-learning. We have entered an era of virtual reality where the success of teaching depends on digital skills.
