The Shahani Group announces launch of Banking Skills Development Initiative
Mumbai: The Shahani Group, one of India’s leading groups of educational institutions, in association with the Sindhi Chamber of commerce, has tied up with the Nanaji Deshmukh Foundation and Atal Seva Kendra, to launch the Banking Skills Development Initiative. The institute aims to provide employment for 1,000 young professionals in the first phase, which will then be extended to 5,000 professionals in the second phase. In recognition of the project by Ask.Careers, the Banking Skills Development Initiative was launched by Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
The Banking Skills Development Initiative will impart training to fresh graduates and final year students, to improve their employability for banks and financial institutions. Under this programme, students will be trained for a period of 1 month (to be conducted online), following a preliminary selection test. Upon completion of the course, they will be provided with the opportunity for white-collar jobs with leading banks and financial institutions in Mumbai.
Speaking about this initiative, Dr. Akhil Shahani, Managing Director, The Shahani Group said, “At The Shahani Group, our mission is to improve the quality of education in India, and support our youth by increasing their employability through relevant courses that enhance their skills to meet emerging demand. The Banking Skills Development Initiative comes at a time when many across the country have lost their jobs and are facing constraints in getting another due to the lack of job-specific skills. In the aftermath of the pandemic, the banking and financial sector is undergoing rapid evolution, to adapt to a ‘new normal’. Through the Banking Skills Development Initiative, we aim to create a pool of skilled and future-ready banking professionals, who will be able to lead the sector to its rightful position in the Indian economy.”
At the launch of the initiative, Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, said “I am pleased to launch the Banking Skills Development Initiative organized by Sindhi Chamber of Commerce and The Shahani Group. This will help thousands of our underprivileged youth to get trained for jobs in the BFSI sector.”
