Ken-Betwa link project to be approved for facilitating water supply to farms: CM Chouhan
Bhopal : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that every possible help will be provided to farmers after conducting the survey of damaged crops. Injustice will not be done with the farmers. He mentioned that water will be supplied to every agriculture field of Chhatarpur district after approving the Ken-Betwa Link Project. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing the bhumi-pujan of Kathan Major Irrigation Project and beneficiaries’ convention in Lidhoura village of Badamalehra tehsil of Chhatarpur district. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan performed bhumi-pujan and inauguration of development works costing Rs. 544 crore, including bhumi-pujan of Kathan irrigation project worth Rs. 394 crore. This project will facilitate irrigation on 15 thousand hectare area of 74 villages. Besides distributing Forest Rights Pattas, he also distributed benefits among the beneficairies of various government schemes like Ladli Laxmi Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Matra Vandana Yojana and PM Swanidhi Yojana.
The programme was inaugurated with Kanya pujan. Former Union Minister Sushri Uma Bharti, Minister for Public Works Pt. Gopal Bhargava, Member of Parliament Shri V.D. Sharma, Chairman of Civil Supplies Corporation Shri Pradyuman Singh Lodhi, Members of Legislative Assembly and other public Representatives were present on the ocacsion.
75 percent jobs to Bundelkhand’s youth in Diamond Mines
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan stated that the development works of the region, which were stopped, will be started again. Youths of Bundelkhand will get 75 percent jobs in local industries and diamond mines of the district. He further mentioned that the work of medical college will be started in Chhatarpur. Poor will be benefitted under the Sambal Yojana. Justice will be served now to the farmers. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan stated that an amount of Rs. 4600 crore against crop insurance will be deposited in the accounts of 20 lakh farmers on September 18 and 37 lakh people of Madhya Pradesh will start getting wheat at the rate of Re. One per k.g. from September 16. He said that with the blessings of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, 88 thousand 773 poor of Chhatarpur district will start getting fair price ration. Under the Jal-Jivan Mission, every village will get tap-water, he added.
Stadium in Lidhoura and College in Ghuvara
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan mentioned that a stadium will be constructed in Lidhoura, high school will be upgraded, college will be started in Ghuvara from the next session, Bhimkund will be developed as a tourist destination and hospital in Badamalehra will be upgraded into 100 bed hospital.
Appreciating the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the programme, the former Union Minister Sushri Uma Bharti said that seriousness, maturity, patience and decency are characteristics of his personality. I would have not run the government as good as he is running it. She further said that he is serving the people like a ‘Grihasth Sant’. The former Union Minister stated that Madhya Pradesh will work as a model state to make Atmanirbhar Bharat. People are industrious and the region is enriched in natural resources. Now Bundelkhand will not lag behind in development. With the construction of dam and on completion of the irrigation project, the poverty of Bundelkhand will be eradicated. In terms of per capita income, Bundelkhand will progress, she added.
State President Shri V.D. Sharma said that the resolution, taken by the former MLA Shri Pradyuman Singh Lodhi for the development of the region will be fulfilled by the government. The bhumi-pujan of Kathan Major Irrigation Project, costing Rs. 394 crore, which was performed today will pave the way for the development of this region.
Minister for Public Works Shri Gopal Bhargava said that this region will not lag behind now in terms of development. After the year 2003, works are being carried out continuously for the development of this region. Dacoits’ problem has been eliminated. All necessary works will be carried out in this region by the Public Works department.
Chairman of Civil Supplies Corporation Shri Pradyuman Singh Lodhi briefed the Chief Minister with various problems of his area and put forth demands as well. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan assured him that all the demands concerning development of the area will be fulfilled.
