Block Divas under ‘Jan Abhiyan’ celebrated in Uri, Paranpeela Blocks
Baramulla: As part of ongoing “Jan Abhiyan” that has been launched by J&K government preceding the upcoming Back to Village-3, Block Divas was today celebrated in every block of district Baramulla.
In this connection, a grand function was organized here at Govt Degree College Uri to celebrate the Divas for Uri and Paranpeela blocks where Joint Director Planning Mohammad Yousuf and District Information Officer Baramulla Mudasir H Choudhary presided over as Visiting Officers for the respective blocks.
On the occasion, the concerned visiting officers held a productive interaction session wherein various stakeholders put forth their developmental aspirations including road connectivity, health, education etc.
The people also demanded the complete execution of developmental works identified in previous phases of back to village campaign. Meanwhile, several income certificates were also distributed among the identified beneficiaries.
Joint Director Planning, in his speech complimented the participants and urged upon the people to come forward with their developmental needs and aspirations.
He said that various schemes are being launched by the government for the development of border areas adding that basic infrastructure in health institutions is being upgraded through the CSR component of funding.
District Information Officer, in his address, underlined the basic objective of Jan Abhiyan and said that several novel measures are being taken to ensure prompt and hassle free public service delivery.
He said that cent percent saturation shall be achieved in individual beneficiary schemes adding that special focus shall be given to welfare and people oriented programmes in the upcoming phase of Back to Village campaign.
Moreover, DIO informed that government has released Rs 10 lakh to every panchayat halqa in which Rs 20,000 shall be utilized on purchasing sports items as a move to promote sports culture among our youth.
Among others, BDC chairpersons, BDOs, block level officers, representatives of various line departments, PRIs among other concerned functionaries were present on the occasion.
