Madhya Pradesh CM Chouhan, Ministers and Public Representatives to distribute over 22 thousand Forest Rights Pattas in 47 districts

Bhopal : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh Government is always ready to ensure justified rights to tribals in the state. On one hand, to enhance their income, increase has been made by the Central government in the support price of minor forest produce as well as better value of tendu leaf was ensured and on the other, their all loans as of August 15, 2020, obtained from the illegal moneylenders are being declared null and void by enacting a law to free them from exploitation. Forest rights pattas are being given by the government to all eligible beneficiaries, belonging to the scheduled tribe category in the state.

On the occasion of birthday of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, ‘Gharib Kalyan’ week is being organized in Madhya Pradesh from September 16 to 23. On the fourth day of the week, ‘Vanadhikar Diwas’ will be celebrated in the state on September 19.Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Bhopal and Ministers as well as public representatives in other districts will distribute forest right pattas to the beneficiaries. On this occasion, more than 22 thousand forest rights pattas will be distributed in 47 districts of the state.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan will distribute forest rights pattas to the beneficiaries at a state level programme, to be held at Tribal Museum at 11.00 a.m. He will also address all beneficiaries through video conferencing and will interact with few beneficiaries. On this occasion, CM Shri Chouhan will also release ‘Vanadhikar Pustika’. The programme will take place till 12.00 noon. Minister for Tribal Welfare Sushri Meena Singh will also participate in the programme. The programme can be directly viewed on the regional channels of Doordarshan as well as through webcast, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. In the district level programmes, Ministers and public representatives will distribute forest rights pattas to the beneficiaries.

The effective implementation of Forest Right Act was ensured in Madhya Pradesh for the first time under the leadership of the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan. So far, about 2 lakh 70 thousand personal and 29 thousand 996 community forest rights pattas have been accepted. It is a resolution of the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan to give justified rights to each eligible tribal on land under his/her possession.
