Gandhi Jayanti Celebrated across Geological Survey of India through Shramdaan and Planting of Sapling
Kolkata: Geological Survey of India, the 170-year-old premier geological organisation today celebrated 151st Gandhi Jayanti across its offices in India through Shramdaan and Planting of Saplings maintaining the social distancing norms in this Pandemic Situation.
The main function was held at the Central Head Quarters in Kolkata where Dr. S. Raju, Additional Director General, Mission III & IV inaugurated the programme held at the Oldham Hall of the CHQ building.
Shri Anand Prakash Rai, Deputy Director General, GSI CHQ delivered Lecture on the life, teaching and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi in our freedom struggle and nation building.
Later all the Geological Survey of India officers and staff members across all hierarchy had given Shramdaan by getting involved in the office cleaning drive.
Other Geological Survey of India offices across India celebrated by giving Shramdaan and planting Neem Sapling in their respective campus.
