Heartening housewarming ceremonies added emotional quotient to B2V3
Jammu: The heartening housewarming ceremonies (GrahPravesh) ceremonies hosted by the administration for the PMAY beneficiaries during the ongoing Back to Village program added an emotional quotient to this unique development carnival of the Jammu and Kashmir Government.
Excited with the warmth & pleasure of the new home, the Grah Pravesh hosted by the visiting officers added to the blissful occasion for the beneficiaries.
The PMAY-G scheme enables the homeless villagers to have a roof over their head, improve their living condition and upgrade their social status. For the beneficiary families, the most significant boon of the pucca houses constructed under the PMAY-G scheme has been the safety these provide during natural calamities.
The ‘Greh Pravesh’ of PMAY beneficiaries were held in many Panchayats of district Doda and the house owners were presented with gifts by the visiting officers.
As per the administration around 12000 PMAY houses have been sanctioned in the district.
The ‘Grah Pravesh’ ceremonies of the completed houses were also organised in District Rajouri where the visiting officers handed over the keys of the houses to the beneficiaries.
Home warming ceremonies or ‘grah pravesh’ were conducted in District Jammu, in Panchayat Darsopur for the beneficiaries as well. One of beneficiary Vicky, son of Sewa Ram, was presented a gift of a pair of blankets by the Visiting Officer. Ratno Devi, a widow of village Parwah of Jammu extended gratitude to the Government for extending monetary support under PMAY scheme for construction of her own house.
Similar activities were also conducted in the other panchayats of the 5 blocks of the District Jammu viz Arnia, Suchetgarh, R.S.Pura, Miran Sahib and Satwari.
At Block Bani of District Kathua, Greh Parvesh was held for PMAY house beneficiary Mushtaq Ahmed of Lowang-South Panchayat which was completed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.30 Lakh.
At Block Nagseni of District Kishtwar, Mirza Begum, a widow and resident of Village Kwar, Nagseni, became a proud owner of a Pucca house after the Rural Development Department found her eligible for the benefits.
In Udhampur District, Om Parkash of Panchayat Sira (B), a labourer, who lived with his children received an amount of Rs I.30 Lakh as provisioned under the scheme. The financial assistance motivated Om Parkash to build a pucca house for his children.
In the same district, ‘Grah Parvesh’ of Hari Lal of Panchayat Chakal Block Basant Garh was organized. Beneficiary thanked the Govt for helping him in the construction of his house.
In Reasi, the visiting officers also organized ‘Grah Pravesh’ ceremonies for the beneficiaries.
Similar activities are being organized in all other districts also.
