Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel wished bright future to 17 students of ‘Chhu Lo Aasmaan’ initiative who have cleared JEE Mains
Raipur: Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today interacted with the 17 students of ‘Chhu Lo Aasmaan’ initiative, who have successfully cleared the JEE Mains exam of AIEEE, and congratulated them. These students have made it to the merit list for admission in NIT. With the support provided under this programme initiated by District Administration Dantewada and NMDC, 845 students have got selected in various higher education institutions till date.
Chief Minister addressed the students via video conferencing saying that education is the only way to achieve the heights of success. He said that despite coming from remote areas and adverse circumstances, they have achieved success with the help of ‘Chhu Lo Aasmaan’ programme and their determination. On the occasion, Chief Minister announced that 40 more seats would be approved for tribal children of Bijapur and Sukma districts under Chhu Lo Aasmaan programme from next session. He also announced that the students who have been selected for the higher education institutions will be provided financial aid. Chief Minister also announced that aid would be provided for medical treatment of the eyes of Hemant Kumar Arya, one of the students. Mr. Baghel said that 53 schools have been started in the districts under Swami Atamanand English Medium School Scheme. In coming years, English Medium Schools would be started at block-level in the state.
On the occasion, Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Industry Minister Mr. Kawasi Lakhma, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Shishupal Sori, MLA Mr. Anoop Nag, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Mineral Development Corporation Mr. Girish Dewangan, Advisor to NMDC Mr. Dinesh Shrivastava were also present. Collector Dantewada Mr. Deepak Soni and NMDC Chairman cum Managing Director Mr. Sumit Dev also joined via video conferencing.
Chief Minister said that the children associated with ‘Chhu Lo Aasmaan’ programme have proven that there is no shortage of talent in Bastar areas. Given the opportunity, our children can give a tough competition to the children of metro cities. Till date, Bastar was only known for natural beauty, their unique lifestyle and mines. Now Bastar will also be known for education. On the occasion, Chief Minister heard the experiences of the successful students namely Santkumar Kunjam of Cherpal Dantewada, Upasna Negi and Kalyani Netam of Sukma, Manoj Kumar of Teknar Dantewada and Teacher of Chhu Lo Aasmaan Sukriti Sharma. Children gave the credit of their achievement to their teachers, Chief Minister, District Administration Dantewada and their parents.
This year under ‘Chhu Lo Aasmaan’ programme, total 17 students have secured places in the merit list of JEE Mains (for NIT), including 11 students from Dantewada, 2 from Bijapur, 3 from Sukma and one student from Bastar. 16 of these children are tribal and one from OBC category. Last year also, 21 students had got the admission in IIT, NIT.
