Online training held at Women’s Polytechnic
Aligarh: The Electronics Engineering Section, Women’s Polytechnic, Aligarh Muslim University organised an online training on ‘Testing of electrical and electronic products for consumer safety in India’.
Mr Razi Khan, an AMU alumnus and Senior Engineer in HiPhysix Laboratory, Delhi, discussed the levels of the electric current that can affect human beings adversely. He explained and demonstrated online testing of LED bulbs and highlighted Indian standards of testing for different electrical and electronics appliances.
Another resource person, Ms Radha, Assistant Manager in HiPhysix Laboratory, Delhi, delivered a talk and described the procedure for filing of certification through MeitY. She stressed on testing of cell and batteries before using them for different purposes.
Welcoming the guest speakers, Dr Salma Shaheen, Principal, University Women’s Polytechnic, said online training relevant to the students of polytechnic is need of the hour and such programmes will be organized on regular basis.
More than 70 students including those from the Women’s Polytechnic attended the training event.
Dr Mohd Ajmal Kafeel, Co-convener, conducted the programme while Mr Amir Khan, Coordinator, proposed a vote of thanks.
