Over 450 students and professionals from 120 institutions across India participate in India’s first ever Virtual Hackathon in EdTech sector
New Delhi: India’s first-ever virtual 24 hour EdTech Hackathon competition was organized by leading e-learning platform-Fliplearn to challenge the technology prowess of students and Engineers and showcase their creativity with an aim to develop original and innovative solutions in the education domain.
The virtual event took place on October 17th and 18th 2020. All admitted teams had 24 hours to build creative solutions to the problems through coding, programming, design, data etc. The goal of the event was to build the future of education using technology.The competition was open for students of Class 9th to 12th and engineering students and professionals. ‘Hackathon 2020’ was categorized into two categories. Category one included students from class 9th to 12th,and Category two included students and professionals from engineering colleges.
‘Hackathon 2020’ received a great response from school and engineering students and professionals from across India with entries received from 100+ Schools and 20+ Engineering colleges across the country and final participation by over 320 teams with 450 plus participants.
The Hackathon saw a high degree of competitiveness and Gagan Gupta of The Millennium School, Bhatinda who won the competition in the first category was rewarded with gift vouchers worth INR 30K along with exciting gifts. In the second category, the winning team was Guna Shekhar and Aditi Singh of IIIT Gwalior who also received gift vouchers worth INR 30K along with a certificate of appreciation, Fliplearn goodies and an opportunity for a ‘Job Interview’ directly with Parul Jain, CTO, Fliplearn.
Fliplearn also recognized the efforts of all the participants with 15K gift vouchers for runner up teams in respective categories and a certificate of participation for all particpants.
Participants came away awed by the experience. Gagan Gupta, of The Millennium School, Bhatinda and the winner of the Category 1 award, said “The Hackathon was big help to me in understanding aspects of website and creative content development and gave me a experience of the potential of computer technology in education as well”.
The Judges for the events were Divya Lal, Founder and MD – Fliplearn, Parul Jain, CTO- Fliplearn, Nitigya Kuchhal, CPO Fliplearn and Sarat Chandra, Director – Doon Public School and Franchisee chain.
Speaking on the conclusion of the event, Divya Lal Managing Director, Fliplearn Education Pvt. Ltd. said, “The event was a great success, and we are happy that it got such a huge response.
