Webinar on ‘Plant MicroRNA Research’

Aligarh: Expert speakers, Prof Jawaid Ahmad Khan (Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi), Dr Manoj Prasad (National Institute of Plant Genome Research) and Dr Sandip Das (Delhi University) delivered special lectures based on their research in the webinar on ‘Plant MicroRNA Research’ organised by the Department of Botany, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) to mark the centenary year.

In the presidential address, AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor elaborated the significance of the webinar and stressed the need for interdisciplinary research for the benefit of society.

Prof Wasim Ahmad (Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences) spoke on the achievements of the key speakers.

Prof Nafees Ahmad Khan (Chairperson, Department of Botany) highlighted the progress of the department.

Prof Ghazala Parveen conducted the programme. Prof Parveen was also one of the conveners of the webinar with Prof Altaf Ahmad. Around 170 participants from various university departments attended the webinar.
