BML Munjal University Commemorates 5th Founders Day
Gurgaon: BML Munjal University (BMU), a Hero Group initiative celebrated its Fifth Founder’s Day virtually on Tuesday – November 10, 2020. On this day every year, the university remembers the life and times of Padma Bhushan winner Brijmohan Lall Munjal, a pioneering entrepreneur, philanthropist and institution builder whose vision and value systems have guided this institution since inception.
The virtual event was attended by students, parents, deans, staff and faculty of the university in the presence of the Chief Guest, Dr. Naushad Forbes who is the Co-Chairman of Forbes Marshall, India’s leading steam engineering and control Instrumentation company.
Addressing the students and faculty virtually, Dr. Naushad Forbes, Co-Chairman of Forbes Marshall, who presided as the Chief Guest, said, “Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal was a legendary industrialist and pioneered many firsts in the country as well as industry. I am delighted to see that all the people associated with BMU are taking the Founder’s vision forward in terms of creating entrepreneurs, nurturing innovation across levels and ensuring equality. Let us maintain self-discipline to tide through this pandemic by following social distancing and masking ourselves. I wish everyone all the best for the future.”
Thanking all faculty and staff for their contribution to the university, Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal, Chancellor of the University said: “We have emerged stronger and more robust from this crisis, and I am especially grateful to those who are helping us keep the university open virtually. This institution was set up to make higher education practical, relevant and realistic as also to develop leaders for a new India. I am sure this crisis will produce more resilient, capable and flexible young leaders for the new normal, and help us as we continue our journey from being good to being great.”
During the virtual ceremony students along with faculty and staff were recognized for their hard work, integrity and enthusiasm. The university in partnership with Hero MotoCorp under its two programmes, Educate to Empower (E2) and Hamari Pari as part of its CSR initiative ‘We Care’, provided scholarships to students of BMU. The E2 scholarship was awarded to academically brilliant students, one boy and one girl who secured the highest CGPA in their respective streams in the first year of their undergraduate & postgraduate course. The Hamari Pari scholarships were provided to girls belonging to humble backgrounds to study at the University. This was followed by the Achievers awards to the students, faculty, and students in addition to the long-term service awards to the employees. The awards were given away by the Vice-Chancellor, BML Munjal University.
