A four day STEAM Conclave in conjunction with Shri Educare Ltd was conducted at The Shriram Millennium School, Gurugram
Gurugram: The Shriram Millennium School, Gurugram held a STEAM Conclave, for educators from across the country in association with SEL (Shri Educare Ltd). Nearly 15 k-12 schools from across India participated in the four-day conclave from 12th to 15th December 2019. The purpose of this conclave was to provide information, to instill innovative ideas, approaches and strategies that define STEAM-based learning.
The highlight of the conclave was, students interacting and learning from a renowned innovator and education reformist “Sonam Wangchuk “. Speaking at the conclave, Mr. Wangchuk asked the students to be curious learners and realistic in their thought and create innovative solutions on the basis of the needs and requirements of their surroundings. The reformist further asked the students to also pay attention to 3Hs- head, hand and heart along with 3Rs (reduce, reuse and recycle).
The conclave was an information sharing workshop to encourage students to build a framework for real-.world ventures and to discuss Design Thinking for creative problem solving, as well as to learn about AI from experts and entrepreneurs. Several other DIY projects using low cost and simple STEAM tools to integrate across subjects were weaved into the sessions to ensure sustainability in schools.
Speaking on the occasion, Uttara Singh, Director, The Shriram Millennium School Gurugram said, “It is a significant occasion to have amidst us Sonam Wangchuk- an innovator and education reformist. We have received an overwhelming response from the participants and are constantly trying to ingrain our students with a pragmatic approach to foster innovation and quality. The goal is to prepare the students with expertise relevant to problem-solving and future-ready abilities, so that they can develop solutions that better meet their needs.’’
