A start-up immersion programme held in Singapore for Indian MBBS doctors
Held at the National University of Singapore (NUS) & Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the programme was conducted as a part of MPMCx, an exclusive management programme for MBBS doctors by IIM-Ahmedabad in collaboration with DailyRounds
Mumbai : A batch of doctors from MPM-ClinicianX, an exclusive management programme for doctors by IIM-A, participated in a Global Startup Immersion program in Singapore. Held at the National University of Singapore (NUS) & Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the 3-day program offered events like healthcare design thinking & product development workshops, start-up challenges, interactions with industry experts & more.
Management Programme for Medical Professionals – ClinicianX (MPM-Cx) is a one-of-its-kind course designed for MBBS doctors, by IIM-Ahmedabad and DailyRounds (Neuroglia Health Pvt Limited), a Bengaluru based healthcare startup. The 3 day start-up immersion programme in Singapore was a part of this course.
The programme included a healthcare design thinking workshop, conducted by the expert team of NTU (Nanyang Technological University), Singapore. The aim of this workshop was to train doctors to approach healthcare problems from a design thinking perspective. Apart from this, there was also a start-up challenge, chaired by Dr. Deepu Sebin (Physician & Founder of DailyRounds) & Dr. Mayank Gulkarni (Physician & Associate Director at National University of Singapore).
In addition, Mr Senu Sam (Founder & CEO of MyKare health) & Mr Tanay Talal (Founder & CEO of Moonfrog labs) also delivered sessions. It was followed by Product development, Marketing & Product design workshops from eminent speakers in the field, and talks by VCs & investors.
Around 40 MBBS & specialist doctors from across the country participated in the programme. The cohort included a range of candidates from fresh MBBS graduates, senior specialist clinicians and practitioners. The doctors explored a range of creative projects including a primary school healthcare programme, a glucose-monitoring app, a creative redesign of children’s OPD, Electronic Medical Records etc.
As the trend of MBBS graduates and medical doctors pursuing management careers and entrepreneurship roles continue to grow, specialized programmes like these are the need of the hour. This course aims to bridge the gap between medical professionals and management experts and create a new generation of healthcare managerial professionals capable of bringing about much-needed changes in the healthcare industry & public health.
