A step towards internationalization: IIM Bodh Gaya collaborates with Patna Regional Passport Office for Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp
Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya in collaboration with the Regional Passport Office, Patna is organising a Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp for students and staff members from 15th to 18th October 2024 at the campus. Inaugurated by Dr. Vinita S. Sahay, Director, IIM Bodhgaya and Ms. Swadha Rizvi, Regional Passport Officer, Patna, the camp aims to promote internationalization of education by ensuring that every student has a passport.
The initiative has been organised through ‘Passport Mobile Van’ under the project of the Government of India, Passport Aapke Dwar, to streamline the passport application process. Applicants need to complete an online application, pay the prescribed fee, and make an appointment. On the scheduled date and time, applicants must appear at the passport mobile van at the IIM Bodh Gaya campus for the verification of photos and required documents.
Mrs. Swadha Rizvi, Regional Passport Officer, Patna informed that under the project of the Government of India, Passport Aapke Dwar, a total of 35 Post Office Passport Seva Kendras and 2 Passport Seva Kendras have been opened in Bihar. The project aims to provide passport applicants with the facility to submit passport applications near their place of residence. Taking this project forward, the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, through TCS, a partner in providing passports, provided a state-of-the-art air-conditioned passport mobile van to the Regional Passport Office, Patna on January 26, 2024.
The New Education Policy 2020 emphasizes the internationalization of the higher education system. The policy reinforces the need to attain the goal of global quality standards and attract greater numbers of international students. In order to bring international exposure and cultural diversity to the campus, IIM Bodh Gaya has established collaborations with several reputed institutions in Germany, Taiwan, France, Venezuela, Russia, Mexico, Italy, S. Korea, Morocco, and Israel. This includes several distinguished institutes such as the University of Illinois, the University of Notre Dame, Tarleton State University, and others.
