A tech-savvy teacher from EuroSchool wins Global Teacher Award 2021

 

Hyderabad: Inspirational teachers deserve recognition for their commitment to education amid the learning crisis we see today. Ms. Akshita Kapoor from EuroSchool Hyderabad brought laurels to her school and the teacher-community at large by winning the Global Teacher Award 2021. Akshita Kapoor won the award for her innovative teaching style and notable work towards building awareness among the youth on how to cope with stress, practice mindfulness and manage time effectively.

A Social Science teacher with 15 years of teaching experience, Akshita uses online teaching tools along with AI, augment, and virtual reality to make her classroom sessions more interactive. The awards were announced at a virtual conclave on October 24, 2021.

Expressing her happiness on winning the award, Ms. Akshita Kapoor said, “It is a matter of pride to be recognized at an international platform. I am thankful to the management at EuroSchool for their constant support. The EuroSchool team has always supported us teachers and equipped us with a range of resources to deliver meaningful learning experiences. Special thanks to my Principal, Dr. Vishnu Vandana, who believes in nurturing and enhancing the talent of not only students but also teachers. Dr. Vandana constantly motivated me to upskill along and apprised me of the importance of applying new technologies and innovations in my classroom teaching. Because of this, today, I can make studies interesting for my EuroSchoolers through new techniques leveraging AI, AR, VR classrooms.”

“I believe AR and VR-powered learning is way forward. It makes learning multi-dimensional and engages students in the classroom,” she added.

Commemorating her win, Dr. Vishu Vandana, Principal, EuroSchool Hyderabad said, “I was ecstatic when I heard that Akshita won the Global Teacher Award. Her win is testimony to the passion and effort taken by teachers to deliver innovative learning, despite challenging times. Akshita has won various accolades in her teaching career spanning fifteen years, some of which include:

· Finalist at the Lighthouse Learning Educators Impact award 2021

· 3rd prize for Cozmo Clench (Digitalization with AI) organized by EuroSchool, North Campus in August 2021

· Certificate in ‘Human Rights in Disability Services’ – National Disability Services, New South Wales, Australia, in 2016
