AADI Gaurav Mahotsav 2023 Concludes on a High Note

Dehradun: The vibrant and culturally rich ‘AADI Gaurav Mahotsav 2023,’ organized by the Tribal Research Institute (TRI) Uttarakhand, concluded today after three days of captivating performances and exhibition. The Chief Guests on the occasion were Uttarakhand’s Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Radha Raturi, and former Director General of Police, Uttarakhand, Anil Raturi.

Renowned folk singers, including the esteemed ‘Garh Ratan’ Narendra Singh Negi and the soulful Jaunsari singer Reshma Shah, graced the concluding day with mesmerizing performances that resonated with the spirit of Uttarakhand. Negi’s renditions of traditional Garhwali folk tunes and Shah’s poignant Jaunsari melodies left the audience enchanted and stirred.

The festival’s cultural mosaic extended beyond musical performances. The three-day-long exhibition, a visual delight, showcased the rich tapestry of tribal culture and craftsmanship. From intricately woven textiles to exquisite handicrafts, the display was a testament to the artistic expertise of tribal communities.

S S Tolia, the Director of TRI Uttarakhand, expressed his delight at the overwhelming success of the Mahotsav, stating, “AADI Gaurav Mahotsav has been a celebration of our rich tribal heritage, bringing together artists and communities to showcase the diverse cultural tapestry of Uttarakhand. The performances and exhibitions have not only entertained but also educated and celebrated the uniqueness of our tribal identity.”

Rajeev Kumar Solanki, Coordinator of TRI Uttarakhand, shared his sentiments, “This Mahotsav has been a labor of love and dedication. It is heartening to witness the enthusiasm and appreciation of the audience. We hope to continue fostering an environment that promotes and preserves the rich cultural heritage of our tribal communities.”
