Abertay University’s Support Bolsters Campaign to Establish Dundee as a Living Wage City

Abertay has announced that the new Living Wage rate of £12 per hour will be introduced this year as the University reaffirms its commitment to the national benchmark.

Announced during Living Wage Week 2023, the decision reflects the University’s desire to support its staff and also back the wider campaign to make Dundee a Living Wage City.

Director of People and OD, Eilidh Fraser, attended a meeting of the Dundee Living Wage Action group to celebrate Living Wage Week.

She said: “We are living in hugely challenging times at the moment, and we are very much aware that the current cost of living pressures affect colleagues at the base of our pay scale the most. As an anchor institution for the local area, we’re pleased to be in a position to reaffirm our commitment to the Living Wage this year and we are happy to back the drive from the Living Wage Foundation and the Dundee Living Wage Action Group keep this issue in the spotlight over the course of Living Wage Week and moving forward.”
