Academic Administrators’ Training Program Concluded at the UGC HRDC,

 

Aligarh : The UGC Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) successfully concluded a four-week online training program for academic administrators. The program, inaugurated on January 4th, wrapped up with a Valedictory Function attended by AMU’s Vice Chancellor, Professor M. Gulrez. Thirty-eight academic administrators from various institutions enrolled in the course, including the EFLU regional campus in Lucknow, IIM Mumbai, National Forensic Science University in Gandhinagar, Nagaland University, University of Delhi, and others.

Speaking at the Valedictory Function, AMU’s Vice Chancellor commended the efforts of the organizers in providing valuable training opportunities for academic administrators. He stressed the importance of continuous learning and professional development in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of higher education institutions.

Participants, including Assistant Registrars, Assistant Controllers, and Assistant Finance Officers, benefited from diverse sessions covering topics such as government-university interface, communication skills, RTI, service rules, personality development, and academic leadership. Notable speakers included AMU Registrar Mr. M Imran and Dr. Faiza Abbasi, Director of UGC HRDC AMU.

Mr. M Imran (IPS), conducted a session focusing on the ‘Interface between Government and Universities’. During the session, he provided insights into ministerial communications and policy documents. He stressed the need for administrators to ensure compliance while managing the flow of documents both upwards and downwards within the hierarchy

Dr. Abbasi emphasized the unique challenges of academic administration, highlighting the importance of understanding the higher education ecosystem and engaging with stakeholders effectively. The course coordinators, led by Prof. A. R Kidwai, former Director of UGC HRDC AMU, ensured comprehensive coverage of relevant subjects.

Participants lauded the program’s efficacy in addressing their learning needs and enhancing their understanding of administrative processes. Mr. Faisal Fareed and Mr. Tariq Hussain from AMU, Mr. Sourabh Mahajan from IIT Jammu, and Ms. Sanskriti Tripathi from RLBCAU, Jhansi, expressed satisfaction with the course’s flawless execution in an online format.
