Academic At Bournemouth University Becomes National Teaching Fellow

BU academic, Dr Holly Henderson, has been recognised for her exceptional impact on education by successfully becoming a National Teaching Fellow (NTF).

The National Teaching Fellowship Scheme recognises, rewards and celebrates individuals who have made an outstanding impact on student outcomes and the teaching profession. This accolade is widely recognised as a mark of quality in higher education nationally and internationally. It is a competitive process leading to a small number of individuals across the sector being awarded a fellowship. As a National Teaching Fellow, Dr Henderson joins a community which actively contributes to the promotion of excellence within teaching and learning.

Dr Henderson is a Senior Lecturer in Education Excellence in the Centre for Fusion Learning Innovation & Excellence (FLIE). She also lectures for BU’s Business School (BUBS) and the Faculty of Health & Social Sciences. Having struggled herself during her formal education with dyslexia, Dr Henderson is passionate about education innovation that enhances the learning experience, engagement, quality, and outcomes.

Dr Henderson expressed her delight with the award, saying: “I feel very honoured to be recognised in this way, especially since the competition for a National Teaching Fellowship is so high. I would like to thank the colleagues who have encouraged me throughout my career and with the application process. I am looking forward to working with other Fellows and supporting others to demonstrate their positive impact on student learning.”
