Accor India and InterGlobe Hotels hosts Graduation Ceremony for students of Nursing Assistant Program
Accor India and InterGlobe Hotels, in collaboration with HOPE Foundation, hosted a graduation ceremony for their 2021 cohort of Nursing Assistant Program—a CSR initiative to provide young individuals from disadvantaged societies with employable medical skills. The ceremony was held at Ibis New Delhi Aerocity, where over 100 students were congratulated and given their NSDC certificates.
The HOPE Foundation is a pan-India organization that catalyses change for the underprivileged through education, training, and health programs, with over 20 years of experience in the training field. Every year, through their work, they impact the lives of more than 50,000 children, women, and men. Their major areas of intervention are educating underprivileged children, providing healthcare, training young individuals for a living, and providing grants or interest free loans to launch small businesses.
In 2019, Accor India and HOPE Foundation ideated a short-term job-oriented vocational training program in paramedical skills, called the Nursing Assistant Program, considering the growing demand for human resources in the medical field. The learning program offered three months of classroom training and six months of on-the-job training, followed by an NSDC certification. InterGlobe Hotels joined hands in this journey in Jun,21 with the objective to provide skill development opportunities to underprivileged and enable them to build a sustainable career.
The association between Accor India and HOPE Foundation commenced in 2012, when the two organisations partnered for the creation of ‘Accor Centre of HOPE’ to help the socially and economically disadvantaged sections of society. Ever since, Accor Centre of HOPE has trained 500 youngsters with vocational training and placed 300 students to overcome their social and financial barriers in order to find employment.
The first batch of Nursing Assistant Program began in Sangam Vihar, New Delhi, in 2019, with the objective to provide quality education and experience to 60 participants coming from marginalized communities. The second batch of the program was launched in Gurgaon in April 2021 with the aim to train 60 female students and ultimately enhance the medical capacity of the society. In an overwhelming result, 113 students received their certificates, with more than 100 of them receiving permanent placements in various hospitals.
