Adamas University to organise a webinar to commemorate International Women’s Day 2021

 

Kolkata : Adamas University, in partnership with British Deputy High Commission, Kolkata, is holding a webinar on “Women in Leadership Achieving an Equal Future in a Covid-19 World”, to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 08,2021.

The event will be inaugurated by Mr. Nick Low, British Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata in presence of Prof.Samit Ray, Chancellor, Adamas University. The event is being organized by School of Liberal Arts and Culture Studies (SOLACS), Adamas University

Prof. Sushma Yadav, Vice Chancellor, Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Viswavidyalaya, Sonipat, Haryana, Prof. Anuradha Mukhopadhyay, Vice Chancellor, Diamond Harbour Women’s University, Kolkata, MS. Sophie Ross, Deputy Head, Political and Bilateral Affairs, and the Policy Lead for Human Rights, British High Commission, New Delhi, and Dr. Munmun Biswas, Social Activist and Academician, West Bengal State University, will also speak on the occasion.

British Deputy High Commissioner to Kolkata, Mr. Nick Low said: “I’m delighted to join our friends from ADAMAS University once again to celebrate International Women’s Day, and in particular to look at Women in Leadership Achieving an Equal Future in a COVID-19 World. It’s said that too often we ask women leaders to act more like men. Experience of the pandemic may lead us to ask whether we shouldn’t ask men leaders to act more like women.”

International Women’s Day is celebrated to honour the achievements of women, from across the world and time. The day also functions as a reminder of Women’s rights and their access to equality. It also celebrates the achievements of women in the face of various obstacles and challenges.
