ADC Bhadarwah reviews arrangements for Ramadan, Baisakhi festival
Bhadarwah: The arrangements for Ramadan and Baisakhi Festival were today reviewed here at a meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar.
The meeting was attended by functionaries of service provider departments including Power Develeopment Department, Jal Shakit (PHE) Food,Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Municipal Committee and Police, besides representatives of religious and social organizations.
The ADC asked the concerned to ensure availability of all requisite and essential commodities, especially mutton, Chicken, Vegetables and milk on prescribed rate during the Holy Month of Ramadan. He directed the officers of all departments to work in synergized manner to avoid inconvenience to the people.
The PDD and PHE departments were asked to provide adequate power and potable water supply at the time of Iftar and Sehri as well as in all the Mosques and shrines. He also directed MC to repair all defunct street lights, damaged poles transformers and water pipes and gravity lines before the holy month of Ramadan.
He further directed the authorities of CA&FCS department to keep available essential commodities for the general public during all the week days and asked for effective monitoring of public distribution mechanism.
ADC appealed the people to purchase meat at government approved rates and inform the administration about overcharging by the sellers. He also directed to CA&FCS officials, Veterinary department and Municipal officers to constitute checking squads to intensify market checking and take strict action against the hoarders and black marketers.
The ADC also directed the Municipal Committee to maintain proper sanitation and cleanliness in and around the places of worships and at the places of congregations.
Meanwhile, a delegation led by president Sanathan Dharma Sabha called upon ADC and discussed arrangements for Baisakhi festival. The members apprised him about issues like overcharging by the matador drivers and stall owners during Baisakhi Melas held at Supardhar, Gatha and Nagni temple. They appealed ADC to make arrangement of drinking water at Supardhar where huge Baisakhi mela is held every year with zeal and zest.
The ADC listened to their genuine demands patiently and directed the officers of concerned departments to look into the matter and make efforts at an earliest.
The ADC further directed the officers of police and revenue departments to ensure the use of masks by all shopkeepers and general public and ensure the SOPs to be followed strictly in order to avoid spread of Covid 19 pandemic during celebration of festival and also during the Holy month of Ramadan.
