ADC inaugurates Apprenticeship mela at ITI Udhampur

 

UDHAMPUR : On the directions by Skill Development Department J&K, a mega Apprenticeship mela was today organized by the Government ITI Udhampur.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Syed Khan was the chief guest, who formally inaugurated the mega Apprenticeship mela.

Around 300 pass out trainees of ITI and other Institutes including 30 Prominent Industrial establishments of Udhampur participated in the Apprenticeship Mela.

The progarmme started with inspection of Departmental stalls by Chief Guest put up by District Industries Center (DIC), Agriculture, Horticulture, Employment, State Bank of India (Life Insurance) showcasing different Self Employment schemes to encourage the participants to become Entrepreneurs.

Superintendent ITI, Naresh Singh gave a Power Point Presentation on the Apprenticeship Training Scheme (ATS) to the Industry/Establishment representatives present. He described the key benefits of ATS to Employers as well as the employment seekers. He also informed the participants about the Registration Process for Employers as well as employees on ATS’s online portal. He urged upon all the Industry/Establishment representatives to endorse the Apprenticeship scheme so that unemployed youths of the district can take maximum benefit of the scheme.

The Superintendent ITI as Assistant Apprenticeship Advisor District Udhampur, also assured every type of help to Industries/Establishments and trainees like registration, contract generation, uploading of opportunities, selection of candidates, examination & certification processes on the portal.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest stressed upon all the industry/establishment representatives to come forward and enroll themselves as well as take on board trainees as per their requirement so as to make this scheme successful in the District.

The Chairman IMC, ITI Udhampur Arun P Gupta and President Associated Chamber of Commerce & Industry Sham Saroop Kalsotra also spoke on the occasion and assured every possible help in the implementation of the scheme.

General Manager DIC, Pankaj Kumar Anand also stressed upon all Industry people to make this scheme a major success..

Assistant Director Employment, Priyanka Gupta acquainted the ITI trainees about the departmental schemes like Mumkin, Tejaswani etc.

Director Skill Development, Sudarshan Kumar also joined online mode in the programme and interacted with the Industry People present and appreciated the work of District Administration Udhampur for supporting Govt. ITI Udhampur in the implementation of the scheme in the District.

Later, the chief guest felicitated the Industry/Establishment representatives, District officers/officials with mementos. Jyoti Parkash, Senior faculty ITI Udhampur presented vote of thanks.

Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Officer KVIB, Functional Managers DIC and other officials were also present in the apprenticeship Mela.
