ADDC Kishtwar reviews progress on languishing projects, Back to Village works

Kishtwar: Additional District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Hanief Malik today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of ongoing works taken up under Languishing projects scheme and Back to Village initiave. He also reviewed the progress of PMGSY department in meeting the target set for the macadamisation of roads.
The meeting was attended by joint Director Planning, Mohammad Iqbal; Assistant Commissioner Development, Kishore Singh Katoch; DYSSO, Kharati Lal; Executive Engineers PWD, PMGYSY, Executive Officer, Municipality Council, Tariq Balwan besides officers and officials of education and Forest department.
At the outset, the ADDC was apprised by Executive Engineer PMGSY about the overall physical and financial status of the languishing projects in the district and the status of the macdimisation of roads executed by them.
It was given out in the meeting that macdimisation of about 48.5 kms length has been completed by PMGSY in the district. In addition, macdimisation on around 23 KM on all- weather roads have been completed so far.
The Executive Engineer, PMGSY Marwah was asked to expedite the macadamization and other allied works in the Warwan area and complete it before the winter session.
The building work of KGBV and progress of providing tap water facility to different schools were also reviewed in the meeting.
Besides it was informed in the meeting that 106 works under Back to Village have been completed so far.
In addition to it 7 number of works under languishing projects have been completed till date.
To remove the bottlenecks in implementation of languishing projects, the ADDC framed a committee of the concerned departments and directed them to resolve the issues and resume the work on languishing projects.
