Adequate arrangement to be made for apple and vegetable season: Himachal Pradesh CM
Shimla : A delegation of farmers and horticulturist from Shimla today led by Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj called on Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, here today. The delegation urged the Chief Minister for arrangement for availability of packaging material for smooth marketing of vegetables and fruits.
They said proper medical checkups of the fruits and vegetable buyers coming from other states should be ensured. They urged for arrangements for control of labour charges and packing material.
They also urged for making arrangements for bringing labourers from Nepal and other states of the country in time, besides making arrangements for cold storage stores for fruits and vegetables.
Delegation thanked the Chief Minister for providing packing material for vegetable and stone fruits and transportation facilities. They also thanked the State Government for well planned marketing of their produce through APMC and other agencies.
Chief Minister said that State Government was always committed for protecting the rights of farmers and horticulturists. He said that proper arrangements for packing and marketing of fruits and vegetables would be made during the upcoming season. Government would ensure that farmers and horticulturist do not face any inconvenience.
Senior BJP leader Sandeepani Bhardwaj, District BJP President Ravi Mehta, Chairman APMC Shimla& Kinnaur Naresh Sharma and other party members and farmers and horticulturist were also present on this occasion.
