After 16 Years, Restored Palace in Northern Greece, Once Belonging to Ancient Kingdom of Macedonia, Set to Reopen

After 16 years of restoration, a palace in northern #Greece which belonged to ancient kingdom of Macedonia where Alexander the Great (356 B.C.-323 B.C.) was crowned king, will reopen on Saturday.

 

On Friday, Prime Minister #KyriakosMitsotakis inaugurated restored palace in city of #Vergina near the port city of Thessaloniki. The site has been under restoration over past 16 years. The palace, named after Philip II, father of Alexander the Great, is the centerpiece at the archaeological site of Aigai.
