After pandemic, Jan Abhiyan brings developmental activities back on track in Bandipora
Bandipora: The 21-day long Jan Abhiyan has broken the ice after freezing of routine government activities amid corona virus pandemic for many months here and the campaign has set the developmental activities back on track and the rural areas are abuzz with the government activities.
The Jan Abhiyan is receiving overwhelming response in Bandipora district and people are actively participating in different programs to be part of the decision making at the ground level by participating in developmental activities in their villages.
Festive look wore in rural areas during the Muhim Barai-e-Haqooq and Awami Sunwai Muhim wherein the locals actively participated. More than 10,000 certificates were issued including Domicile certificates, income certificates, SC/ST/RBA, ALC, OBC certificates, scholarships, Adhaar cards, KCC and Gold Cards during the Muhim Barai-e-Haqooq.
Aiming to improve service delivery and redressal of public grievances, during Awami Sunwai Muhim, officers were available at Tehsil, Block and district level to hear the public grievances.
The grievance camps witnessed huge public participation wherein the people apprised the officers about their grievances and sought early redressal.
Scores of delegations and individuals called upon Deputy Commissioner Dr Owais Ahmad and apprised him about their issues faced by them including that of roads, availability of pure drinking water, macdamization of roads, improvement of power infrastructure, improvement of service delivery and other issues of public interest.
During the public hearing many grievances were solved on spot and rest were forwarded to the concerned departments for prompt redressal through established tracking system.
Similarly in various district and sectoral offices besides at various block and panchayat levels public grievances were listened and documented.
Under Dehi Taraqiyati Muhim, two developmental works have been taken up in each Panchayat during the campaign and so far 48 works have been started while spot estimation of more than 100 works have been conducted.
Under MGNREGA and other schemes, the Department of Rural Development has taken up the task to create durable asset under these schemes with special focus on road connectivity and development of play fields.
Moreover various departmental functionaries are also visiting their respective jurisdictions and listening to the grievances of the general public, besides awareness programmes highlighting various individual beneficiary schemes are also being organized across the panchayats.
District Development Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais said he is personally supervising the day to day activities of Jan Abhiyan and is reviewing the status of grievances on daily basis submitted by the designated team.
He also appealed the general public of the district that on every day except on Wednesday and Sunday, these public hearings will be continued not only within the premises of DC office but also in all the district and sectoral offices on every consecutive Wednesday.
