Agri Dept organises Exhibition/ Kissan Mela at Budgam

Budgam: A daylong Exhibition cum Mega Kissan Mela was today organized by Agriculture department at Chadoora, here.

The Mela was inaugurated by Sub Divisional Magistrate Chadoora, Prince Noor-ul-Hamid in presence of Joint Director Apiculture and Mushroom Farooq Ahmad Shah.

During the address, the SDM said that the department is doing wonders in vegetable sector in sub division Chadoora. He urged upon the farming community to adopt scientific techniques to enhance the production and productivity of crops.

Joint Director Apiculture & Mushrooms during his speech highlighted various farmer friendly schemes being implemented by the Department and asked the participating farmers to reap the benefits of said schemes.

He stressed upon the officers to educate the farmers of the Chadura sub division regarding vegetable cultivation as this area is the largest producer and exporter of vegetable.

Various officers from Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Apiculture, Mushroom, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and other field functionaries of the department besides a large gathering of farmers was also present on the occasion.
