Agriculture Dept organises one-day workshop on market linkage of farm produce

 

ANANTNAG: The Department of Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare department district Anantnag in collaboration with Policy Advocacy Research Centre (PARC) Mumbai conducted a one day Training/ Awareness program at Dak Bankglow Khanabal, here.

The programme was organised to initiate Marketing linkage of farm produce in which besides officers of Deptt of Agriculture, sectoral officers of allied departments and experts from KVK also participated.

Chief Agriculture Officer, Anantnag while delivering the inaugural lecture briefed the committee about the potential of district Anantnag. The FPOs, organic vegetable producers and progressive farmers while interacting with the committee raised various issues and sought avenues for marketing of their products.

A committee headed by Ruchita Rane and Joint Director Agriculture Marketing responded to the queries of farmers and stressed on value addition, grading and packaging of the produce.

Committee later visited various fields of progressive farmers at Shangus and organic vegetable cluster Bangidar, Anantnag.
