Agurchand Manmull Jain College Empowers Students with Anti-Ragging Orientation Programme

Chennai, August 19, 2023: Agurchand Manmull Jain College took a decisive stance against ragging by hosting an impactful Anti-Ragging Orientation Programme. The event, jointly organized by the Anti-Ragging and Discipline Committees, aimed to raise awareness among new students about the dangers of ragging.

The event featured Dr. P. Shakthivel, Director of Tamilnadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, as the esteemed chief guest. Dr. Shakthivel’s insightful discourse shed light on legal aspects and legislations, empowering students with knowledge to counter ragging. College Principal Dr. N. Venkataramanan and Dean Dr. M. M. Ramya graced the event, while college seniors staged a street play under the theme “Don’t rag, Don’t get ragged.”

A series of creative competitions throughout the week under the theme “SAY NO TO RAGGING” further raised awareness. Prizes were awarded by Dr. Shakthivel, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to a safe educational environment. Notably, this initiative was a part of the Anti-Ragging Week, celebrated from August 12 to August 18, a dedicated annual observance aimed at eradicating the menace of ragging from educational institutions.
