AICTE Chairman Prof. T. G. Sitharam launches Margdarshan Scheme 2023-24
The Margdarshan Scheme 2023-24, a visionary initiative by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), was successfully inaugurated on Wednesday by AICTE Chairman, Prof. T. G. Sitharam. This transformative scheme aims to elevate the standard of technical education nationwide by providing dedicated mentoring and guidance to Mentee Beneficiary Institutes (MBI) through the collaboration of Margdarshan Institutes (MI).
Prof. T. G. Sitharam said, “The Margdarshan Scheme 2023-24 marks a significant stride towards enhancing the quality of technical education in our country. By fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing between institutes, we are paving the way for holistic growth in the realm of education.
“The aim of Margdarshan is to enhance the holistic quality of institutions. An allocation of 30 lakhs will be provided to ten institutions, tasked with mentoring rural establishments that have not yet received accreditation. The AICTE team has dedicated significant effort to develop this highly advanced scheme,” he added.
The launch event was graced by distinguished personalities including AICTE Member Secretary Prof. Rajive Kumar and other officials of AICTE who expressed their confidence in the scheme’s potential to drive positive change across the technical education landscape.
Designed to promote excellence, the Margdarshan Scheme enables participating institutions to access cutting-edge facilities and resources offered by Margdarshan Institutes. These resources encompass advanced laboratories, extensive libraries, innovation cells, and more, empowering the institutions to enrich their academic infrastructure.
Participating institutes also receive guidance to enhance their National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings, as well as assistance in achieving National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accreditations. This support is extended through comprehensive training workshops, mentorship programs, and expert consultancy services.
Menter Institutions can be well established AICTE approved institutions or Centrally Funded Institutions like IIT/NOT/IIIT/IISER/IIM/IISC etc however Mentee institutions has to be AICTE approved institutions only.
The Margdarshan Scheme has garnered participation from technical institutes across the nation. Prof. Rajive Kumar, AICTE Member Secretary, commended the initiative, stating, “The response to the Margdarshan Scheme is an example to the education community’s commitment to advancement. Together, we are poised to elevate the technical education landscape to new heights.”
Interested institutions are encouraged to take advantage of this transformative opportunity by submitting their applications by the deadline of September 30, 2023. The scheme is set to unfold over a span of three years, promising sustained growth and development.
