AICTE – DIYguru MOU to provide jobs to one million Electric Vehicle workforce by 2025
New Delhi: The Ministry of Education, in association with the All India Council for Technical Education, has launched the National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT 2.0) on February 16, 2021.
DIYguru, an E-Mobility upskilling edtech platform based in Delhi with corporate clients like Bosch, Hyundai, Maruti has signed an MOU with AICTE to engage students from Engineering Colleges in their after school and last semester to provide Job assured Electric Vehicle Nanodegree program.
The program is designed for students or professionals with basic knowledge of +2 Physics & Maths. Background in Automotive ITI, Diploma or Engineering is an added advantage.The programme will give training in various design, dynamics and analysis of E-Mobility softwares for four months followed by two months of hands on training and lab projects which will be done on-site in partnership with electric vehicle companies. The programme is scheduled to start from Mid March 2021 and will be repeated biannually.
Avinash Singh, Founder & CEO of DIYguru said, “we want to make the workforce ready for the future. Industries are looking for experts in Battery, BMS, Motor, Controllers and EV diagnostics. Repair and maintenance industry also needs a heavy workforce as the no. of EVs and charging stations keeps growing on the road. We are on a mission to upskill a million people and get them jobs ready by 2025.”
As per the MOU signed between AICTE & DIYguru, 25% of the total seats allotted for the programme will be given for free of charge every year to economically backward (SC/ST/Scheduled Cast) students. For this students have to register via AICTE NEAT Portal.
Currently there are more than 5 lakh students enrolled on AICTE NEAT portal which was launched by Dr. Ramesh Pokhariyal, Education Minister, Govt. of India in a direction to promote National Education Policy 2020, they will be the direct beneficiaries of the programme via B2C model , in addition to this Engineering colleges and Universities which are looking to include this nanodegree program in their semester will be able to participate via B2B model.
The event which was held at the AICTE Auditorium, New Delhi was blessed with the presence of several eminent personalities including the honorable Minister of Education Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ , Professor Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman of AICTE, Professor MP Poonia, Vice Chairman of AICTE, Rajive Kumar, Member Secretary, AICTE and Shri Buddha Chandrasekhar, CCO, NEAT, AICTE.
