AIR INDIA EXPRESS INTROUCES LITERARY AWARD FOR MALAYALAM NOVELS IN COLLABORATION WITH PADMARAJAN TRUST

Air India Express announces the launch of the 'Air India Express Tales of India Award' in collaboration with the Padmarajan Trust, as the airline continues to infuse culture and authenticity.

Kerala: Air India Express, New India’s Smart Connector, and Padmarajan Trust, named after the legendary film maker and writer P. Padmarajan announce their exclusive collaboration to promote Malayalam Literature. In a noteworthy addition to the Padmarajan Awards tradition, the ‘Air India Express Tales of India’ novel award is being introduced. This literary award is designed to recognize the debut novel of a promising writer. The eminent jury led by writer Sara Joseph has selected KN Prasanth for his debut novel Ponam. The other Padmarjan Trust awardees include M Mukundan (for best novel), Lijo Jose Pellissery (best director), VJ James (for best short story), and Shruti Saranyam (for screenplay). The award ceremony will be held on Friday, 27 October 2023, 6PM onwards at Bharat Bhavan in Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram.

The esteemed event aims to honour exceptional achievements in Malayalam literature and cinema. The evening will feature the screening of the award- winning film ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakam’ directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery and the launch of the Padmarajan memoir ‘Ormakalil Padmarajan’ authored by Praddep Panangad, further adding cultural significance to this grand celebration.
