Alexandria University Receives Consul General of China
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, received Ambassador Yang Yi, Consul General of China in Alexandria, with the aim of discussing ways of cooperation and strengthening the bonds of joint cooperation, in the presence of Dr. Ashraf El-Ghandour, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs, Dr. Wael Nabil, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Hani Khamis, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Saeed Allam, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Sahar El-Arnaouti, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, and Dr. Sameh Shehata, Supervisor of the International Relations Office.
For his part, the university president welcomed the Chinese consul, stressing Alexandria University’s keenness to enhance cooperation with Chinese universities and activate joint scientific, academic and research cooperation agreements through the university’s international relations office. Dr. Konsowa also called for cooperation with Chinese universities, various research and scientific centres and their counterparts at Alexandria University to cooperate in the fields of clean energy, water desalination, artificial intelligence, and the study of Arabic and Chinese languages on both sides through professors and specialists from Chinese universities.
For his part, the Consul General of China pointed to the possibility of cooperation by bringing in professors and specialists from Chinese universities to teach Chinese language and culture in the Chinese Language Department at the Faculty of Arts, strengthening the capabilities of faculty members at the same department, and receiving students from Alexandria University in China to study Chinese language and culture.
