Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ) Celebrates the Qatar National Sports Day

Doha : The Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ) an Associate Organization (AO) of ICBF Under the aegis of the EMBASSY OF INDIA organized various sporting activities in association with AMUAQ Toastmaster Club on the occasion of Qatar National Sport Day. Various sports activities including, tug-of-war, soccer, sack race, lemon and spoon race, Frog race, Pin the tail, Cycling, Oola hoop and Kite flying were organized for the participants.
The activity happened at the beautiful venue of Box Park, at the old Doha Port under the managing committee of AMUAAQ presided by Dr. Nadeem Zafar Jilani.
The Alumni of Aligarh Muslim University in Qatar actively engaged in promoting Welfare, social, Health care, educational, sports activities in Qatar and in India.
Participants and their family realize the importance of games and sports.
In a discussion on this occasion, President AMUAAQ Dr. Nadeem Jilani said that The National Sports Day receives great attention and this special event has become well-received by everyone all over Qatar from all age groups who are keen to spend a special sports-focused day and creating an awareness of its importance and including it into our lifestyle should be encouraged as we all know that a healthy body houses a healthy mind.
Mr. Farrukh Farooqi Head of sports informed that Our association starts the sports activity this year on the occasion of Republic Day (26th January 2024), Republic cup cricket match played between AMUAAQ Vs Integral Alumni and match was won by AMUAAQ and Mr. Osma declared the man of the match.
On the occasion of the National Sports Day, AMUAAQ Chairman, Jawed Ahmad said, Qatar is considered a pioneer in organizing a Sports Day regionally and globally, as some countries have begun organizing a Sports Day similar to Qatar due to its importance to the individual and society. He also mentioned about the sports day celebration as the opportunity to bring communities closer together through sport, based on the sporting principles of team building, inclusion and unity, participation, fitness, and health.
Dr Nadeem appreciated the managing committee coordinators Mohammad Faisal Naseem, (VP), Mohammad Farman Khan (GS), Dr. Ashna Nusrat (VP-Ladies) and Heads Mr. Farrukh Ali Farooqi, Mamnoon Ahmad Bangash, Dr. Nayeem, Abad Khan, Ghazala Yasmeen, Saima Rafat , Dr. Imtiyaz, Dr. Imran Mumtaz, Mr. Imad and Syed Shahabuddin.Momin Alvi, Mr. Irfan & other Integral Alumni Lucknow members also participated the events. Toastmaster of AMU Alumni also actively joined the event.
At the end as a token of appreciation each category winners & runners up were presented with the medals and goody bags while Refreshments were provided by the committee members.
