Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ) conducted Beach Clean-up activity
Doha: The Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ) an Associate Organization (AO) of ICBF Under the aegis of the EMBASSY OF INDIA conducted the Beach Clean up activity campaign and get together,. The activity happened as a part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” on 19th November 2021 (Friday) in association with Ministry of Municipality and Environment Qatar with the theme “Protect and preserve the natural environment and keep the marine habitat safe and trash-free” at the beautiful venue of Al Wakra Family beach under the managing committee of AMUAAQ presided by Jawed Ahmad.
The Alumni of Aligarh Muslim University in Qatar founded a forum in the name of “AMU Alumni Association Qatar” (AMUAAQ). This is actively engaged in promoting Welfare, social, Health care, educational, sports and professional activities in Doha and in India.
Mr. Sachin Dinkar Shankpal, First Secretary (Culture and Education), Indian Embassy Qatar and Chief Guest of the event in his address said that all members should come together to fulfill the AMUAAQ mission towards community and alma mater and wished that AMUAAQ should continue with the same mission towards Welfare and other social activity. Mr. Dinkar appreciated the president and his team for organizing the Beach Cleanup event. Mr. Sachin mentioned that sustainability is the overall goal of the municipality and Qatar Green Building Council. Everyone is working within the same system for the deployment of all the aspects of the culture of sustainability by spreading awareness and knowledge. He appreciated “AMU Alumni Association Qatar” (AMUAAQ) President Mr. Jawed Ahmad and his committee for organising beach clean up activity with other important awareness briefing session like Corona Virus. Mr. Sachin appreciated once again to Dr. Nadeem Jilani who recently saved the life of one of the flyer while travelling from Delhi to Doha, Everyone appreciated and praised his noble gesture. At the end Mr.Sachin and his wife Dr, Sonia thanked the team for warm welcome.
Jawed Ahmad, the President of the AMU Alumni Association Qatar gave the welcome address including a brief about Beach Clean up and Tool Box Talk tips. Mr. Ahmad, said: “In an effort to spread awareness about the importance of protecting the marine life and educating the community is the need of the hour.He mentioned that approximately 0.75 million Indian migrants are estimated to be living in Qatar, if even Indians can contribute towards a sustainable landscape of Qatar, it will make the difference.Lastly he mentioned that all the participants and well-wishers should join hands together to support the community and stand with Qatar. Mr. Ahmad mentioned that AMU Alumni Association Qatar is affiliated organisation and its functional in line with by laws and local regulations.Mr. Jawed thanked to HE Shri Deepak Mittal (Ambassador, Indian Embassy), who sent his wishes for this activity. Lastly Mr. Ahmad conveyed his regards and thanked to (MME) Ministry of Municipality and Environment Qatar for their extended support for this event.
Dr. Nadeem Jilani, the chief Advisor, AMUAAQ , spoke about the importance of Beach clean up and marine protection. Dr. Jilani also advised the people to continie following the prevention guidelines of covid and get the booster vaccination at the earliest. He also mentioned that our association also actively doing the blood donation, medical camp and many community related activit as well.
Mr. Vinod Nair, Vice President of ICBF, spoke about the importance of Beach clean up and appreciated AMUAAQ team for this marine protection based event.He also appreciated AMUAAQ team for their Toastmaster club and advised guests to join it for their individual development.

AMUAAQ, General Secretary, Mohammed Farman Khan informed that Membership to affiliated AMUAAQ is open to those who is an alumnus of AMU including their family members and well-wishers irrespective of race, religion, ethnicity. AMUAAQ welcomes all those who cherish AMU values and ideals.
Participants of AMUAAQ and Guest spread across the beach along with MME representative equipped with garbage bags to collect trash from the beach and in turn protect marine life and keep the Qatar’s coastline safe and pristine.
Participants and their family, said: “It was really fun and creative event where they learnt how important it is to take care of our oceans, marine life and environment.
Participants felt proud in cleaning the beach, to contribute the preservation of the environment through community work. Participants picked up litter and trash along the shoreline.
Dr. Ashna Nusrat (Chief Coordinator)organised games for kids , ladies and gents.Everyone participated in this games very enthusiastically.Bingo game was enjoyed the most.The winners were given gifts too.The winner for Bingo game was Mr. Farrukh Farooqi while 2nd winner was Mrs. Shima Sadaf.
