Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar beats JMIAAQ in Alumni Trophy
Doha : Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ) an associate organization (AO) of ICBF under the aegis of the Embassy of India, Qatar played their last league match .
A cricket match was played between AMUAAQ and JMIAAQ on 26th Nov 2021 at Asian Premier League Ground, Al Tumama under Alumni Cricket League organised by Integeral University Alumni Association Qatar. The match was won by AMUAAQ by 25 runs.
This was the last League match of both teams. Two finalist would be decided after the match between IUAAQ and UPTUAAQ. All the teams have chance to qualify into the final which would be played 03- Dec-2021. This League is being played amongst four teams namely, Integral University Alumni Association Qatar (IUAAQ), Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ), Jamia Millia Islamia Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ) and UP Technical University Alumni Association Qatar (UPTUAAQ).
AMUAAQ won the toss and opted to bat first. AMUAAQ scored 110 for 8 in alloted quota of 16 overs. On the other hand, JMIAAQ could manage to score 85 runs for 7 in 16 overs and lost the match by 25 runs.This win would be attributed to the tight bowling by the bowlers of AMUAAQ and the intelligent field placement by AMUAAQ Captain M A Bangash.

Jawed Ahmad, President of AMUAAQ applauded the players and members for their outstanding performances and support. He appreciated the hard work of Mr. Mazid & Mr. Alvi to start this tournament. Mr. Farrukh Ali Farooqi (Head of Sports – AMUAAQ), M. Farman Khan (GS-AMUAAQ) and Vice President Mr. Faisal Naseem presented the highest level of energies in managing their respective teams at the ground. Before start, EHTERAZ status was checked for all the participants and attendees by AMUAAQ Captain and Vice-Captain. Social distancing, Face mask and Sanitizer utilisation maintained as a part of Covid 19 precautionary measures.
A sumptuous breakfast served to all the participants and the match was concluded with awareness discussion on the Topic Covid 19 precautionary measures.
