Aligarh Muslim University alumni qualify UPSC
Aligarh: Two Alumni of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) have qualified the coveted UPSC civil services, the results of which were declared on Tuesday. Sufiyan Ahmed (B Arch 2009-14 batch) secured the 303rd All India Rank in the general category, while Aftab Rasool stood at the 412th position.
Sufiyan also holds the 16th All Indian GATE Rank, whereas Aftab devoted time for UPSC preparation at his native Tari village in the Kupwara area of Jammu and Kashmir.
AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor expressed hope that the two AMU alumni will discharge their duties with utmost dedication, commitment and sincerity to uphold high traditions of the civil services.
He pointed out that the achievement of Sufiyan and Aftab will certainly motivate and inspire many more AMU students to take the India’s prestigious civil services examination in years to come.
Prof Mansoor urged students to have faith in hard work and to put consistent efforts for achieving goals.
