Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will join the nation-wide celebrations of the ‘National Sports Day’ with sports programs
Aligarh : To commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, the Physical Education Section, Women’s College of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will join the nation-wide celebrations of the ‘National Sports Day’ with open district Badminton and Table Tennis ‘Singles’ tournaments for female participants on August 28 and 29. The sports events will be held in line with the Government rules and regulations to curb the pandemic.
“Nazia Khan, Section Incharge, Physical Education, Women’s College will accept entries of female candidates from AMU and various areas of Aligarh till August 27 (3: 00 pm). Fixtures of all events will be drawn on August 27 (4: 00 pm) and the opening ceremony will be held at 10: 30 am on August 28. Participants are directed to report to the Women’s College Ground at 9: 00 am on August 28”, said Prof Naima Khatoon, Principal, Women’s College.
Meanwhile, the AMU ABK High School-Girls will celebrate the occasion on August 28 with an Intersection/ Interschool Online Sports Quiz, English Slogan Writing Competition and Hindi/ English Speech Competition.
“The Sports Quiz will have participations of class IX and X students, while Class VI to VIII students will take part in Slogan Writing Competition on ‘Games and Sports’. Class IX and X students will also compete in the Speech Competition on ‘Sports and Physical Health’, said Dr Samina (Principal, AMU ABK High School-Girls).
