Aligarh Muslim University functioned normally

ALIGARH : The Aligarh Muslim University functioned normally with examinations being conducted smoothly on Thursday. Non Teaching employees have given a strike call.

Despite the strike call, Semester Examinations at nearly 26 Examinations Centres/Departments were conducted smoothly on time. The Faculty members took over and handled the situation amicably by performing all the duties during the examinations. All the examinations in two shifts were conducted normally as per notified schedule.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammad Gulrez lauded the efforts of the teachers for their efforts in conducting the examinations amidst such a situation.

The dining hall facilities at various Halls of Residences were normal with the respective Provosts and Wardens directly monitoring the services. The Provosts and wardens were stationed at their Halls of Residences and themselves served food to the residents.

The medical services functioned normally with doctors and senior consultants coming forward towards patient care.

The Proctorial team led by University Proctor was constantly on round the campus monitoring the situation. Students also appreciated the timely and normal conduct of examinations for safeguarding their academic career.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Gulrez appreciated the efforts and thanked the teachers, administrative officials, and those non teaching staff who were present on their duties for coming forward and managing the situation despite the strike call. He hoped that the University will function as a unit for the welfare of its students with the support of all stakeholders.

Earlier, Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Controller of Examinations took stock of the situation and held meetings to ensure the functioning of the University. Other officials as Deans of Faculties, Chairman of various Departments too participated in the meeting. The Principal, J N Medical College, Medical Superintendent, Deputy Medical Superintendent also monitored the medical services.
