Aligarh Muslim University in Band A of ARIIA 2020
Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been placed in Band A (Rank 11th -25th) in the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) Rankings 2020 of the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) announced today.
The ranking was awarded on the parameters based on budget and funding support; infrastructure and facilities; awareness and promotion of idea generation and innovation; promotion and supporting entrepreneurship; intellectual property generation; technology transfer and commercialisation; innovative learning methods and courses; and innovation in governance of the institution.
Congratulating the AMU faculty members and students, Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor has said, “The ranking by the Central Government agency proves the academic excellence of AMU that is reflected in high quality research, innovative methods of imparting knowledge and generation of new ideas.”
According to Prof M. Salim Beg (Chairman, Committee for Ranking, AMU), the ranking was started in 2018 and 674 institutions had participated this year.
“Band A includes 11th -25th rank. AMU and other institutions such as the Banaras Hindu University and IITs of Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad and Patna,” added Prof M. Salim Beg.
