Aligarh Muslim University issues advisory
Aligarh: In view of the big surge in COVID-19 second strain cases all over the country, the Aligarh Muslim University has decided to keep close its offices on Saturdays and Sundays till May 15, 2021. The attendance of staff in offices on all working days has also been minimized to 25 per cent. This decision has been taken following the advisories issued by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Home, Government of India and other directives of the Uttar Pradesh Government.
A notification issued by the Registrar, Mr Abdul Hamid (IPS) said that all selection committees and meetings will stand cancelled till May 15 or further order. However, all staff of the Departments/Offices, providing essential services of the University such as medical services, sanitation, electricity, water, residential hall services, Central Automobile Workshop, Telephone Department, Proctor’s Office and Computer Centre, etc. will continue to work as per the directions of the head of their departments/offices.
The notice urged all officials attending their duties to strictly follow COVID related protocol including wearing of a mask, physical distancing, use of sanitiser and frequent handwashing with soap and water. The employees above the age of 45 years have been advised to get themselves vaccinated against COVID.
